VATA
Your constitution is predominantly air. When balanced, you are energetic, adaptable, and cheerful. If imbalanced, Vata people may have dry skin or eczema, gas, constipation. They often fee; anxious and nervous.
Diet
To bring Vata into balance you need to:
• Consume more steamed, heavy and moist foods.
• Use herbs and spices when cooking to help digest the heavy foods.
• Eat smaller meals, but no more than 3 to 4 hours apart.
• Consume more sour, sweet, and salty food.
• It’s better not to eat alone. Eating as a family is the best option.
• Try to avoid potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and chilies as they may cause allergic reaction to both you and your breastfed baby
• Don’t combine milk with yeasted grains.
Massage
Sesame oil and almond oil are best for your dosha type. Gently massage the feet, head, back, and lower abdomen whenever you feel like having a massage.
Aromatherapy
Best essential oils to calm your mind are sandalwood, lotus, frankincense, cinnamon, and basil. They can be used as massage oil or in a bath, as incense, soap, or candles.
Color Therapy
Lighter and pastel shades are better. Dark grays, browns and black may upset you and they are better avoided. Try to dress yourself and to decorate your house in cheerful and uplifting colours like white, yellow, gold, orange, and some red.
Gem Therapy
Best gems to suit your dosha type are emerald, jade, yellow sapphire, topaz, and citrine set in gold.
