Homeopathy is a complementary therapy

Colds & Flu
Aconite use in the first stages, especially if the child has been recently exposed to dry, cold wind. Frequent sneezing, watery discharge. Comes on suddenly. Give it to your child in the first 24 hours.
Pulsatilla Thick, green-yellow discharge, child clinging and tearful. Not thirsty.
Hepar sulph Thick yellow catarrh, wants to stay indoors. Child irritable. Throat pain on swallowing. Very chilly.
Bryonia Stuffed up nose and dry lips. Constipated. Wants to be left alone. Very thirsty.
Euphrasia Red watery eyes, streaming nose.
Ferrum phos. is indicated when colds come on slowly, mouth feels hot, throat is inflamed, mild fever, nose may bleed
Nux vomica: cold with irritability, chilliness, runny nose by day, blocked nose by night, watering eyes and sneezing, headache, sore throat
Nat. Mur. might help in early stages of a cold with sneezing, violent sneezing and thin catarrh resembling the white of a raw egg, possible blocked nose and possible cold sores
Gelsemium is indicated when there are flu-like symptoms with weakness.
Aches and chills, shakiness and trembling, mainly in the legs, bursting headache that is better for urinating, fever with lack of thirst and fatigue, sore throat
Belladonna is the remedy to help when your child is hot, feverish, with flushed face, bright red, sore throat, and staring eyes. Child is very sensitive to light.
Colic
Colocynthis: use when symptoms are mainly: colic with knees pulled up to the chest in response to sharp stomach pains, great distress
Mag. Phos.: colic with crying relieved by warmth, sudden onset of griping or shooting pains in the stomach that come in waves due to flatulence, bloated abdomen, pains are not relieved by burping, great distress
Diarrhoea
Arsenicum: Diarrhoea brought on by food which has gone off slightly, or diarrhoea which gets worse when baby is given cold food or drinks, with baby exhausted, breathless, and emaciated
Chamomilla: Diarrhoea associated with teething, greenish stools, baby irritable and difficult to please
Colocynth: Diarrhoea when there is also colic
Nux when diarrhoea is caused by over-feeding
Podophyllum: Use when baby passes watery stools after eating or drinking, and even during washing
Bryonia is indicated when diarrhoea is caused by sour fruit or by drinking cold drinks when overheated, slightest movement makes diarrhoea worse
Aconite is helpful in the very first stages of diarrhoea only
Constipation
Bryonia is of great help where the straining is a marked symptom and even soft stools require great straining to be evacuated. Alumina works wonders for the constipation of all infants and kids. Children requiring Alumina, strain hard at stool with much crying.
Nux Vomica treats constipations that arise due to an unhealthy food given to small children, such as fried food, sweets, or processed food... Early weaning may be a reason for constipation, and Nux Vomica might be helpful in this case, too.
Nappy Rash
Sulphur Dry red and scaly rash between buttocks, on genitals and may extend up the back.
Rhus tox Skin is itchy, with little blisters.
Mercurius Nappy area very moist and sweaty, baby produces more saliva than usual. May be associated with teething.
Calendula Nappy rash in a fat baby who suffers from copious head sweats at night
Baby and Toddler Eczema
Sulphur is indicated where skin dry, itchy and red, especially in bed or after bathing, child untidy and boisterous, suffers from diarrhoea in morning
Calc. sulph. is indicated for skin eruptions that easily become infected
Rhus tox.Skin blistered, especially on wrists, markedly worse in damp conditions. Rhus tox. is also prescribed for infected skin
Dulcamara is effective for eczema with thickening of the skin
Psorinum Skin looks dirty and unwashed, eczema worse on legs
Graphites is the remedy where skin weepy, pus honey-coloured, condition worst behind ears and on palms of hands, may be associated with swollen glands, poor nutrition assimilation and extreme sweating
If eczema is not relieved after 2 weeks, seek professional homeopathic advice.
Cradle Cap
Mezereum: Infected, oozing crusts on scalp
Petroleum: Skin bubbling, with yellow crusts, worse at night
Teething
Chamomilla: main symptoms which indicate Chamomilla are teething with irritability and anger. Acutely inflamed gums that are sore when touched. Diarrhoea may be present. One cheek appears hot and red while the other is pale.
Belladonna will relieve pain when teething is associated with sudden pain and flushed face. Staring eyes, mouth is hot and dry, gums are painful and inflamed.
Baby Crying and Sleep Problems
Aconite is great remedy when baby is crying because of a hock or a fright
Chamomilla Baby irritable and impossible to please, only stops crying when picked up and carried around
Coffea is helpful when baby is simply too excited or overwrought to sleep
Nux might be your only solution when baby wakes up crying at around 4 am and refuses to be pacified
Temper Tantrums in Toddlers
Cina: Temper tantrums in a child with threadworms. Itching of the rectum and anus (tiny, white threadworms may be detected on adhesive tape placed across the anus first thing in the morning). Grinding teeth during sleep
Chamomilla: Child is impossible to please. One cheek may be red if the child is teething. Stools may be green, watery, and smell like rotten eggs
Possible convulsive symptoms in extreme cases, with child going into spasms of rage
