The Magic of Feeding With BPA-Free Baby Bottles from BornFree

BornFreeFeeding time is magical. It’s a time for closeness, eye contact, and bonding between you and your new baby.  The right feeding system will make all the difference and free you both to enjoy this magical time together.

BornFree baby bottles are especially designed to make your feeding experience as special and productive as possible. All babies are unique and their needs fluctuate throughout the day, especially during feeding - initial hunger can soon give way to a more satisfied suckle. The innovative BornFree venting system caters for all feeding babies, regardless of size, age, hunger or other factors, by putting the flow of milk in the hands of your baby - like natured intended.

BornFreeHow does it work? The free flow silicone air valve incorporated into the venting system breathes together with your feeding baby and starts a steady flow of liquid only when your baby suckles, just like breastfeeding. This stops your baby overfeeding and makes for a comfortable and easy feed for both of you. The BornFree two-part venting system in each bottle is especially designed to minimize the painful symptoms of colic and middle ear infections by reducing the build-up of pressure inside.

The bottle feeding range also features wide neck soft silicone nipples in five flow rates to accompany your baby from newborn and up.

Made from high quality and durable BPA-Free plastic, BornFree leak-proof bottles are dishwasher and microwave safe and will last and last.

For toddlers, the BornFree training and drinking cup range also features the BornFree venting system, allowing for a free flow of liquid and reducing the hard sucking that often leads to ear infections in small children. The teething-friendly chewy spouts are a big favorite with children and can be bought separately. The BornFree Twist ‘nPop  Cup with its pop-up straw, is a great addition to your toddler’s bag at play group. The BornFree baby bottle and cup range is fully interchangeable making it super convenient and economic at the same time.

BornFree continues to develop new and exciting products: orthodontic pacifiers with anti-rash shields, multipurpose silicone teethers for cleaning and soothing sore gums, protective sleeves for glass bottles, formula dispensers and more – all with the BornFree BPA-Free guarantee.
BornFree: a unique range of baby products for unique babies everywhere.

What mums say about BornFree bottles:

"I couldn't breastfeed Chloe and she (and all family) used to suffer with her wind.
Unfortunately I found BornFreeTM too late! The bottle comes with an air vent that helps eliminate colic symptoms.

For me however, the most important feature about these bottles is that they are BPA (Bisphenol A) free. What does this mean and why is it important... Well, having researched this myself, my understanding is that other bottles made from polycarbonate plastic containing BPA, when heated, may leak into the baby's milk. While it may be a small amount, this is a dangerous chemical which can be harmful as it disrupts baby's hormones.

I also love the sealing disc as I can bring the bottle in my bag with no chance of spills from it as always happened with the old ones!

I also like the design but as a designer myself, I would like to see a more colourful range!!

To be honest Chloe doesn't know any of this, but what I can say is that she is now really happy with her new bottles and I know she's healthy!"

"When I was approached by GreenKiddie which is a really great website about Green Parenting to try some BornFree bottles with Fifi. I was a bit skeptical, she is not a baby anymore and I am trying to wean her off them (in my usual haphazard not very determined manner). I have also grown quite attached to the Tommy Tippee ones we use. However, they are all knackered and I'm too mean to buy new ones. I have an open mind and I was quite interested to see what all the hype was about.

A few weeks (since we started testing BornFree bottles) and we now use the bottles in preference to our Tommy Tippee's. I am surprised. They are actually really great for Fifi. Why? Well, she can hold them easily due to their shape and they seem to provide the sort of flow that she needs at her age. She actually points to them over her old bottles.

What exactly is so good about them? Well, they are made from a Bisphenol- A free plastic, this is important as it has been found to leach into foods and mimic human hormones- yuck! The valve has also apparently been proven to help reduce the potential for colic and ear infection. They say that you don't get any leaks either. So that's all good. For us though, it was simply that they were a great shape and size. The plastic feels nice and they fit well into the pockets in my change bag. I like the idea that they are free of nasty chemicals, this is quite a selling point for me as I have tried hard to give them a fairly environmentally and ecologically sound, chemical free life. "So the time has come to introduce a bottle to Miss Blossom. She is exclusively breastfed but I cannot deny I was looking forward to giving the girls (Salutes the boobs) a well earned break.

I am lucky enough to have been sent some bottles from BABYBORNFREE to review.

So, I expressed the milk and being the control freak that I am decided that I wanted to give her her first bottle! Which is bonkers as it kind of defeated the whole aspect of me having a break but there you go. I wrapped myself in the Husbands dressing gown to hide my milk smell and got on with it. I have to say I wasn't sure how she would take to it as the bottles teats aren't particularly nipple like. But she took the bottle no problem!

Success. She took no exception to the teat and had no sign of gas afterwards, I was chuffed and she was full! Happy days!

I'll continue to use these bottles for Blossom, and Monty continues to use the cups. And I am happy in the knowledge that they are BPA free.

So to the hen night I shall go, leaving my Husband with a freezer full of my house white!"

"I was recently selected to try the BornFree bottles with my little one. My baby boy is nearly 10 months old and whilst weaning is well established, he is still having 4 bottles a day, so perfect guinea pig for these revolutionary bottles.

The BornFree bottles are Bisphenol-A free, a very important consideration nowadays. When we bought our Avent feeding set in a bit of a rush, we forgot to check if they were BPA-free, so that it is definitely a plus for BornFree.

The BornFree bottles are very light and easy to hold thanks to their curved shape. My baby boy is therefore also able to easily hold it on his own, giving me a bit of 'free time'. One of my key concerns was the number of separate parts (6 for a complete bottle), it is a bit of a jigsaw at first and a bit long to clean but you get used to it in no time. And they fit in other sterilising equipment so even better... My little one had no issues at all switching to the BornFree bottles and really seemed to enjoy them.

Finally another important consideration is price. Whilst they are a bit more expensive than other brands, if they can deliver a colic-free baby, I really think they are worth the additional investment and I dare anybody with a colicky baby to say otherwise!"

"Lucky for me, BornFree and GreenKiddie needed bottle testers. Soon after we got our lovely new bottles! They looked lovely. Let’s see how they fared!

The first things I noticed were the very soft teat. Followed by the valves to help the flow along a little. But will these make a difference?
Pip Squeak is a very messy feeder, I don’t know what it is, but she will drink and drink and then spit half her milk out (too much at once? wrong teat? I hear you say – No! I have tried with “smaller” teat holes, but she does the same and gets annoyed as milk flow is slow). Surprisingly, the Baby Free bottles stopped this – it is probably something to do with the valves. She hardly wastes any milk with these (normally her muslin is sodden, but not when I use these bottles). I also noticed that when I prepare the “hot formula” and then put them in the fridge, these bottles don’t leak! I guess super important for those precious drops of breast milk (I am still hording some in the freezer...)

I am not sure, whether I am imagining this, but I also think that she spits up less (only “less” though, would be nice if it was “not at all”- sigh). So these bottles really are great all round.

Any negatives? –
The bottles are taller – great for nappy bag, less good for steriliser, though they do just fit!
Also, when she is sucking vigoerously, she sometimes makes the teat “misshape” (does that make sense), but it doesn’t seem to stop her from drinking, nor does it make her dribble more. So I guess it isn’t a problem!

I have to say, looking at the pricing - the “packages” are very good - especially considering, that you are getting very decent bottles!

Thank you Born Free – I would most definitely recommend these!"
